Swim Lower Hypertension - Almost everyone likes to swim. Sports that do not make it save all the good sweat for the body. The study, published in the American Journal of Cardiology, quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Friday (24/2), indicating that swimming can reduce blood pressure and increase the health of the arteries in the elderly. Researchers recruited 43 adults aged 50-80 years old from Texas. All participants had a pre-condition of low levels of hypertension or hypertension, but all participants were healthy although rarely do regular exercise during the previous two years.

Then, the researchers divided them into two groups. The first group to get exercise pool for 15-45 minutes, three to four days per week over 12 weeks. Meanwhile, the second group or control group, a stretching exercise and learning relaxation exercises.

While not losing weight or fat, systolic blood pressure in group swimming classes has decreased 7 percent of the initial pressure of 131 mmHg to 122 mmHg. Their arteries also showed signs of more elastic and responsive to changes in blood flow. In contrast, the control group showed no significant changes.
