"This therapy has changed my life, and now I can eat bananas regularly. This is absolutely fantastic," said Paula who lives in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, UK.
Paula phobias can be cured of banana by using a psychotherapy technique called Neuro-linguistic programming, a technique that will affect the way a person reacts to external stimuli or from outside.
The technique involves the treatment provided a speech therapist who will teach patients how to separate the bad memories it has on certain objects and replace it with something more positive.
"I told Paula to take a banana and imagine the feelings they experienced. Then I will take his mind to a time before he had a phobia and teach him to think positive so that a sense of calm and happy with the banana," says therapist John Bruce from Epilepsy Connections in Paisley, Renfrewshire.
At the end of the session of this therapy, Paula can hold a banana without having a fear or phobia that has been able to make it miserable. These conditions could make it do not believe it.
